More than one little boy or girl has wondered: Why should we be interested in books when there's so much other fun around? To help books, the Acorn elves have come out of the woods, enchanted by letters and eager to learn more about reading and writing. Although Borek could hardly tell an oak leaf from a piece of paper not long ago, he has now ventured into the world of people to meet readers, writers and everyone else who makes books. He and his friend Lidka and his dog Zulda even visited a book launch and a famous bookstore or asked readers why they go to the library.
